The Power of the Porch

Don’t discount the power of sitting on your front porch.  If you have one, and I surely hope you do, there are moments when just taking some time to reflect on life brings about thoughts.  Some could be happy, and some could be sad, either way, they are your thoughts, nobody else’s.  That’s a powerful thing and a powerful gift.  Reliving the good ones, and coming to terms with the bad ones is something we have a chance to do, if we use the time on the front porch wisely.  There are times when inspiration can happen to do something new, to even write a song.

Why It Matters

Time flies. We’ve all said it, and if you haven’t said it yet, you will. When you are given a chance to live through moments of your life, that’s something very special. It’s being human, and that’s the most special gift of all. But that gift can be taken away, when we start to forget moments of our lives.  That’s when sitting on the porch with someone special in your life matters – to talk about moments.  And to even break out some photos too.  Before you know it, you’ve spent time with someone you care about – and that matters too.

Most likely, you’ll touch the heart of a listener who experienced something similar, and that’s called being relatable.
